At the appointed time we will meet in front of the SEO BirdLife Barrack and from there we will begin walking towards the heart of the Riet Vell Nature Reserve. Ready? Let’s begin!
First, we’ll visit an organic rice farm next to a little-known lagoon, a spot that will surprise you from the very first moment. From the observatory, in the pre-eclipse light, we’ll enjoy the perfect setting for photographing birds and observing how they begin to change their behavior in response to the changing light.
Photography enthusiasts, get your cameras ready!
Afterwards, we’ll return to the starting point and get back in the vehicles to head to the Tancada Lagoon, where we’ll make another stop in search of flamingos. These birds have a characteristic pinkish hue, but do you know where this coloration comes from? We’ll find out!
After observing these animals, we will continue our route to Trabucador Beach*. At this iconic sandbar, we will prepare for the highlight of the day: observing the solar eclipse. Here, we will witness how the light over the Delta transforms, and, if nature cooperates, we may see the reaction of flamingos and other birds to this astronomical phenomenon—a behavior as fascinating as it is rare to witness.
Finally, we will conclude the experience with the maximum of the solar eclipse over the Trabucador sandbar, a unique spectacle in which the landscape, fauna and astronomy will come together to offer us unforgettable images.
*If the guides deem it appropriate, the location for viewing the solar eclipse will be changed to a less crowded spot.
To carry out this activity, it is essential that you come with your own vehicle.
